These bars that are loaded with lemon enhance, poppy seeds and bested with a tart {yet sweet} coat. However, the absolute best part about them is the surface. Think, brownie meets a lemon bar! Coated Lemon Poppy Seed Bars will be your new go-to lemon dessert.

I have willingly volunteered to proclaim it Spring. It might have snowed just a couple of days back however we need some Glazed Lemon Poppy Seed Bars throughout our life.

For reasons unknown a flavorful lemon dessert just lights up the day. Perhaps it is the yellow shading or possibly it is the sweet and sharp taste yet in any case… I adore it! One chomp and you will be shipped {even for only a minute} to the warm daylight and blossoms that we are for the most part yearning to see. Please Spring!

These are not quite the same as a conventional Lemon Bar in the way that they don't have a short bread hull. Indeed, the surface of these Glazed Lemon Poppy Seed Bars may very well be what makes them SO amazing. They prepare up thick and delicate like a brownie. To accomplish that overwhelming consistency, you overlook any raising operators. There is additionally next to no flour in the hitter.

Ingredients  :
  • 1/2 cup butter {softened}
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • zest from 1/2 lemon
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • Glaze   :
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • zest from 1/2 lemon

Instructions  :
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare an 8x8 square pan by spraying it with non-stick spray.  In a large bowl combine butter, sugar, eggs, lemon juice, salt and zest.  You can mix it by hand but I used a hand mixer.  Add flour and mix until just combined.  Then add poppy seeds and stir in by hand.  Pour into prepared pan and spread into an even layer.  Bake for 18-22 minutes or until edges are brown the middle is set.  Do not over bake, you want the texture to be like that of a brownie.  Let it cool.
  2. While the bars are cooling, combine the glaze ingredients and whisk them together.  Pour it over the cooled bars and spread out into an even layer over the top.  Cut into squares and serve.  Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator in an air tight container.
